Mute Swans are common on the Cape. Some in smaller ponds near neighborhoods will approach you, conditioned to be fed, I assume. Those are the easiest to photograph.
One good thing about the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Yarmouth is that the swans clear out of the areas near route 28 and congregate far from the commotion. This makes them easier for me to get close to further up Swan Pond.
Came across a lone swan tonight. Watched him dive under for food as his body remained afloat.
It was very windy but the sun was warm. A good day for birds to take in some sun and nourishment this afternoon.
